Timothy Shriver Jr. was born in 1988, the second child of Timothy Perry Shriver and Linda Potter. He is a grandson of Eunice Kennedy Shriver and Sargent Shriver. His grandfather Sargent Shriver founded the Peace Corps and was the Democratic vice-presidential nominee in 1972. His grandmother Eunice was the Kennedy sibling who founded the Special Olympics. Timothy Jr. has maintained a private life in keeping with many members of the third Kennedy generation.
