Arabella Kennedy Birdzell was born in 2016, the daughter of Meaghan Anne Kennedy Townsend and Billy Birdzell. She is the great-granddaughter of Robert F. Kennedy and Ethel Skakel Kennedy, and the granddaughter of Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, the former Lieutenant Governor of Maryland. Her first name was chosen with awareness of the Kennedy family's own Arabella — the first child of President John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy, who was stillborn in 1956.
